Finding Your Niche In Life & Online

A niche is a distinct segment of a market. Anything with an audience can be a niche. Thinking of niches as audiences is going to simplify the prosses of finding your niche in life, gaining experience, skills, and getting your own enjoyable online business up and running.

For many of us, our life’s look nothing like what we had in mind in our childhood/teenage years. Back then there were probably other things we thought we were going to be and get to do. The dreams and brilliant ideas from before our so-called reality hits and we lose track of, we tuck away, or come up with some excuses.

We stop listening to our own voice as well and start worrying more about pleasing others more than ourselves. To fix this we must decide what we are, who we are, and who we are not instead of trying to be everything for everybody.

The internet is changing the way people do business and connect. Quit trying to please everybody because you can’t, it’s imposable. Find a niche, dive in, and create a plan to follow.

If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much”.  ~Jim Rohn

Finding Your Niche & Direction

First things first, don’t worry about your niche being the perfect niche because your first one probably won’t be your last and can be involved with many down the road.

In life, everyone can identify an activity, talent, or niche especially suited to their interests, abilities, or nature.

Deciding on a niche in life is very powerful because when you choose a niche you are focusing your power (where we place our focus) down a single path.

Different people have different niches, writers, cooks, gardeners, coaches, teachers, and every audience within those niches are a niche. Some more examples of niches include:

  • Baby strollers are a niche.
  • People buying a car.
  • When someone is looking to train their dog.
  • Pasta makers are a niche.
  • When someone is looking to make money online.
  • Learning Spanish is a niche.
  • Crossbows are a niche.
  • People building rabbit hutches or chicken coops.
  • Sump pumps are a niche.
  • Nose rings are a niche.
  • Sports fans are a niche.

Never think your niche is going to be too targeted. If you go too broad you become more of a generalist instead of a specialist and it creates a sensation of being overwhelmed.

There are millions of ways help others and an abundance of things you can promote but the key is choosing niches you are interested in learning and talking about.

Here are popular broad niches, each with tons of specific areas to specialize in:

  • Home Business, & e-Business People are always interested in making money from home or learning how to do so. In fact “make money online” is one of the most popular searched keyword phrases on the internet today. This is a very very popular niche and recommended if you don’t have any others to chose from.
  • Dating Advice People are always looking for information on dating and relationships.
  • Health & Fitness There are so many niches within health and fitness.
  • Personal Development & Self-Improvement A lot of people are interested personal development or self-improvement that will help them better their lives.
  • Survival & Emergency Preparedness There a lot of people who are interested in being prepared in case emergencies happen but a lot of times they don’t know where to go or how to do it.

As an internet marketer, you can target niche segments specifically and create an entire online business from a single niche. There are more than 2 billion people online and growing that search for all sorts of things every single day.

If you can effectively connect with these people you can create businesses that earn residual revenue streams online. Even something that seems too targeted and too specific is still going to have an audience online.

In the beginning, when you are just getting started it’s recommended that you just pick one niche to focus on just so you don’t get overwhelmed or confused with all the information you will be learning.

Later, as you become more experienced and involved in internet marketing you will be open to promoting a lot of different products in a lot of different categories. Even different niches, you can have more than one but it’s best to focus on one at a time.

Embrace Your Niche

Know your niche. Build relationships and create unique content that adds value to someone’s life. Work to become the best within it, and don’t try to diversify and wear too many hats within the online world. It only takes ONE niche to be very successful.

To become successful entrepreneurs we must love thy customer as thyself or it’s not going to work. Find ways to do more for others than anybody else. Care enough to take the time to engage your audience so you can find ways to truly serve them.
