A Healthy Desire for Wealth is Not Greed

Never feel guilty about desiring wealth

Money is not the root of all evil, greed is. It’s the love of money that leads to all kinds of evil, not the money. Seeking wealth doesn’t force you to become another boring icky greed infested, earth ruining, person. But we can do some really cool stuff with money so don’t let the greed-obsessed people (jerks) who give it a bad name ruin it for you. Feel grateful and empowered about gaining wealth, not icky or guilty about it. Money is one of the most effective tools you can use to do good and there is no such thing as too much awesome.

Money gives people energy, options, and freedom. Our world needs as many passionate, creative, big-hearted, conscience people to be as rich as possible so we can make this world a better place.

A healthy desire for wealth is not greed, it’s a desire for life.” ~Jen Sincero

We pursue pleasure related to our material existence & we desire to avoid the opposite

Denying you hearts desires is not noble, its a waste of some good desires. But when we constantly crave a desire the desire can get in the way of itself. For example, desires to avoid loss, have more, have pleasure, avoid pain, have fame, avoid obscurity, and the desire to have praise instead of blame. A lot of people develop relationship and health issues driven by the over-consumption of worldly desires for acceptance, food, sex, status, and power.

Focusing too much on our desires can keep us away from living a happy life

People that want more and more things get exactly what they are after, more and more want. Most people want money then their entire life all they get is money wanting. We want goals but we need to release the desire of the goals and just go after them. We must take action towards it and have faith that it will come into our life. It’s not that we want to leave our desire, we just don’t want to chase them anymore. We don’t want to constantly have the craving. Instead, continually strive toward attitudes of generosity, love, kindness, joy, calmness, and contentment. We can live a more dynamic life that’s not constrained to cravings. A life that opens you up to more possibilities that are all around us.

Greed comes from the same lack mindset as poverty

Nothing is good in excess, pigging out on money, material things, and experiences is all based on fear and lack

A lack mindset believes and fears:

  • The money that you spend will never find its way back to you.
  • There is not enough money to go around.
  • That you are not good enough or worthy enough to flourish.

Realize that there aren’t many things you really need

Start to live your life for experiences and become more prosperous, stop worrying about the money, start putting plans together, executing on the plans, stay focused, and do the daily activities that need to be done to have the experience that you want to have. Find the energy you get from not worrying about all the things you cannot control and start doing the things that you need to.

Where our attention goes is where our focus is and what we focus on expands so we want to change our focus on a prosperous mindset and release our desires, needs, wants, and allow things to work for us. Understand why you are craving the things you are craving and recognize that you have the power to release those cravings and put your focus on the things that are actually going to get you there.

Take a deep breath, trust your desires, and embrace the fact that your quest for riches is a quest to become more of who you truly are” ~Jen Sincero

Decriminalize money and the rich

Be aware of any negative beliefs that you have deep down about money and rich folks because if you truly plan to become one of them it will be a whole lot easier if you approve of who you are becoming. Money is just the byproduct of the actions that we do. Money is the prosperity that is created by the value that we put into the world. Don’t get mad because someone has created more value than you. Instead, get excited knowing that if they can do it so can you.
